All-Stare Cure

Introducing All-Star Cure

Join us either July 12 or 13 for a historic breast tissue collection event in partnership with the WNBA All-Star Host Committee, where science meets sport and community powers the cure. Fueled by the success of Indy’s Super Cure more than 13 years ago, the Susan G. Komen Tissue Bank at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center (Komen Tissue Bank or KTB) is partnering with the WNBA All-Star Host Committee to host a two-day breast tissue collection event to put breast cancer research on a fast break.

Established in 2007, the Komen Tissue Bank addresses the need for researchers to understand early tissue changes and factors that may lead to breast cancer. It is the world’s only tissue bank that collects and stores healthy breast tissue.

All-Star Cure:

July 12-13, 2025, in Indianapolis

I'm incredibly proud that we're using the global platform of WNBA All-Star to shine a powerful light on the critical need for healthy breast tissue donations, which can be a game changer for cancer research and lead to better outcomes.

About the event

Thirteen years ago, the Komen Tissue Bank partnered with the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee to conduct Indy’s Super Cure, a legacy project of the Super Bowl. The event was a success; 665 women donated tissue, and $1 million was raised for the Komen Tissue Bank. Indy’s Super Cure put the KTB on the map, enabling it to collect tissue from more than 5,000 people since its inception.

Today, by partnering with a movement at the forefront of women’s athletic empowerment —women’s basketball — the Komen Tissue Bank’s goal is to further accelerate the race for a cure. Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in their lifetime, and women who travel to Indianapolis on July 12 or 13 can physically participate in making a difference for future generations through their participation in life-saving science.
