Community Outreach & Engagement

A united front for cancer awareness and community research

Everyone is at risk of developing cancer, some individuals more than others. But we can all lower our chances of dying from cancer by establishing healthy behaviors such as not using tobacco, drinking in moderation, getting exercise, and maintaining a healthy weight.

We also can prevent certain cancers through vaccinations, while cancers such as breast, cervical, colon, and lung can be caught early through routine screenings.

Community outreach and engagement uses evidence-based strategies to help people prevent the disease from occurring and helping people get needed cancer screenings so that the disease can be diagnosed in early stages. We also seek to help cancer survivors deal with issues that cancer diagnosis and treatment create.
