Director: Victoria Champion, PhD, RN

Victoria Champion, PhD, RN, FAAN — IU Distinguished ProfessorVictoria Champion, PhD, RN,  is one of the most revered and respected cancer researchers in the nation. She’s been on the faculty of IU School of Nursing since 1984, and joined IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center at its founding in 1992.

Dr. Champion’s work has been cited in more than 35,000 published papers (yes, that number is correct), earning her an h-index of 71. The Champion Health Belief Model Scale is now a standard tool for understanding breast cancer screening behaviors around the world. Her research has been continually funded by the National Institutes of Health for more than 35 years.
