Science and Support for Improved Outcomes
In 2025, the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center hosted the inaugural Outpacing Prostate Cancer: Science and Support for Improved Outcomes—a free educational and social event bringing together patients, survivors, caregivers, and medical professionals for a morning of learning, connection, and hope.
Led by Nabil Adra, MD, the program featured a panel of experts—including oncologists, urologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, pharmacists, and researchers—who shared the latest advances in prostate cancer research, treatment, and clinical trials. Guests heard firsthand about new therapies being developed at IU and how these innovations are improving outcomes and quality of life for patients.
The event concluded with an optional 1.2-mile walk along the Downtown Canal at White River State Park, where participants reflected, connected, and honored those affected by prostate cancer.
