Indiana State Fair

Cancer center returns to Indiana State Fair in summer of 2025

Corn on the cob. Lemon shake-ups. Corn dogs. Milkshakes. Prized animals. Summer traditions.

The IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center and our Office of Community Outreach and Engagement will be amid the 15 Greatest Days of Summer, food, fun, and more at the  Indiana State Fair this summer.

The booth will be located under the grandstands from Wednesday, Aug. 6 to Sunday, Aug. 10 to raise awareness of our In the Race to Beat Cancer, Early Detection and Prevention Win education campaign, clinical trials, our 2026 summer programs, and more.

The Race to Beat Cancer campaign is a nod to Indiana’s storied racing history and focuses on breast, colon, lung, skin, prostate, and testicular cancers, as well as head and neck cancer and cervical cancer, the two most common types of HPV-related cancers. In the online campaign, our experts provide easy-to-understand tips about prevention and early detection, signs and symptoms, screening guidelines, the latest research, and more. Be sure to pick up a flyer and chat with our volunteers at our booth.

Fairgoers can also pick up a flyer that provides information about Simon Says and clinical trials.

Curious about cancer research? Interested in living your best life after cancer treatment? The experts at IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center have the answers you need—and advice on topics you might not have even considered yet. Our world-renowned researchers, physicians, and specialists share their knowledge on everything from prevention to survivorship in the Simon Says webinar series.

As Indiana's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, we offer hundreds of clinical studies that test new approaches to improve cancer care and outcomes. These studies help physicians and scientists find ways to improve health and cancer care.

Fairgoers will also have the chance to participate in interactive games and walk away with cancer center swag.

Last year, more than 2,500 fairgoers stopped by the cancer center’s booth.

We look forward to seeing you at the Indiana State Fair!
