Membership with the Brown Center for Immunotherapy offers unique opportunities for innovative research working with world-renowned scientists.
Join our team of immunotherapy researchers
Full membership is designed for full-time faculty members, either research or clinical, with a focus on immunological basic and applied sciences, who fulfill most of the criteria below:
Cancer immunology/immunotherapy:
- PI on actively funded tumor immunology or immunotherapy research; OR
- Serve as a PI for immunotherapy related IIT; OR
- Chairperson for a peer reviewed research related to either tumor immunology or immunotherapy;
- Faculty members that play a key role in the GMP facility
Non-cancer immunology/immunotherapy:
- PI on actively funded immunotherapy for non-cancer diseases within the mission of the Brown Center, such as Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases
Full members will have three years to renew funds if they lose funding and are expected to continue to publish on related subjects.
Associate membership is designed for scientists with basic immunology expertise:
- Full-time faculty member
- Non-funded PIs on tumor immunology or cancer immunotherapy
- PIs who are currently not actively leading cancer immunotherapy clinical trials but in the process of opening such trials
- PIs on non-therapeutic, non-tumor immunology research programs
- Scientific staff working in the GMP facility depending on their level of research contribution
Membership benefits
- Facilitating new partnerships, collaborations, working groups and project teams
- Locating resources (internal and external) and linking investigators with shared resources
- Facilitating external research funding
- Eligibility for seed money and pilot funds
- Membership dues at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC)
- Prioritized access to the GMP production capability
- Access to Brown Center shared equipment and resources, including immune monitoring
Member responsibilities
- Continue to align research objectives with the center’s vision to generate therapies, enhance therapeutic efficacy and identify and overcome resistance mechanism
- Collaboration with teams across the center to move their science to clinical applications
- Share data via attending and presenting at center seminars and discussions
- Participate in the education of trainees and junior faculty
- Mentor each other in their own expertise and collaborate
- Obtain and maintain extramural funding
- Review grant proposals for pilot projects and help other teams generate their funding proposals; for example, reading grant proposals and providing input
