Welcome new cancer center staff member

Betsy Cooney has joined the cancer center’s advancement team (communications and gift development) as a communications strategist. In this position, she will support the advancement team by creating effective communications for internal and external audiences via Salesforce. She will help shape the center’s general and donor communications, coordinate the Simon Says Expert Series, and provide graphic design support for communications and development projects.

Cooney was most recently with a marketing company where she developed email campaigns. Before that, she was with the IUPUI School of Science.

Betsy is working a hybrid schedule. Her on-campus office is located in AOC 5100. She can be reached at emcooney@iu.edu or 278-7740.

Conversations About Oncologic Critical Care – Focus on Testicular Cancer Patients

The cancer center is co-presenting Conversations About Oncologic Critical Care – Focus on Testicular Cancer Patients, along with the National Cancer Institute of Slovakia, and the Slovak Oncology Society, the organizational component of the Slovak Medical Association. The conference will be 8-11 a.m. ET Wednesday, Nov. 8, and a live stream is available for registrants. Cancer center director Kelvin Lee, M.D., will provide opening remarks.
