Dr. Zhang's research interests include:
My primary research interest is molecular and nutritional epidemiology of cancer, with a focus on the etiology and early detection of pancreatic cancer. I am particularly interested in the identification and validation of proteomic, metabolomic, microbiome, hormonal, and genetic biomarkers that are predictive of early-stage pancreatic cancer, the malignant progression of pancreatic cysts, and treatment response in patients with pancreatic cancer. I have conducted numerous epidemiological studies that investigated the roles of diet, other lifestyle factors, genetic variants, and gene-environment interactions in the etiology and prevention of pancreatic cancer and other types of cancer.
