Responsibilities
All members are expected to participate in either the clinical, research and/or teaching programs of the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Full and Associate members are expected to:
Make meaningful contributions to the research, education, patient care and community outreach activities of the cancer center, as demonstrated by:
- Submission as PI or co-PI on a cancer-relevant grant
- Presentation of data at internal or external scientific meetings
- Publication as contributing author on peer-reviewed articles/book chapters
- Collaborative efforts via grants, publications or active membership in an IUSCCC working group
- Regularly attend cancer seminars and IUSCCC Grand Rounds
- Serve on various cancer center committees when called upon
- Recognize the support of the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center on publications, when appropriate
- Attend regular program meetings
- Present at cancer center sponsored seminars and Grand Rounds
- Support the educational and philanthropic mission of the cancer center through private and public offerings
Affiliate members are expected to:
Make meaningful contributions to the research, education, patient care and community outreach activities of the IUSCC, as demonstrated by:
- Submission as PI or co-PI on a cancer-relevant grant
- Presentation of data at internal or external scientific meetings
- Publication as contributing author on peer-reviewed articles/book chapters
- Collaborative efforts via grants, publications or active membership in an IUSCCC working group
- Regularly attend cancer seminars and IUSCCC Grand Rounds
- Actively participate in clinical trial development and/or patient accrual
- Serve on various IUSCCC committees when called upon
- Recognize the support of the IUSCCC on publications, when appropriate
- Actively participate in appropriate national cooperative group activities (e.g. ECOG, RTOG, COG, ACOS) and statewide through Hoosier Oncology Group
- Participate in quality initiatives
- Contribute to multidisciplinary clinical program development, including clinical outcomes and research (screening, prevention and therapeutics)
