Gwaltney re-elected to PAMN

Candace Gwaltney, associate director of communications for the cancer center, has been re-elected to the Public Affairs and Marketing Network (PAMN) steering committee. PAMN is the professional development and networking organization for cancer center public relations and marketing leaders at cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute or members of the Association of American Cancer Institutes. PAMN works closely with the NCI’s Office of Media Relations and Public Affairs to further public awareness of cancer research, prevention, detection and treatment. Gwaltney will serve a two-year term.

Member headlines and highlights

Reuben Kapur, MD (HHM), and his collaborators have uncovered new molecular insights to improve treatments for acute myeloid leukemia. Read more.  

Led by Angela Richardson, MD, PhD (EDT), IU School of Medicine has enrolled the 100th patient in the Radiation One and Done Study (ROADS), a clinical trial comparing GammaTile with stereotactic radiotherapy for brain tumor treatment. Read more.  

Rachel Katzenellenbogen, MD (CPC), has received the 2024 Norman J. Siegel New Member Outstanding Science Award. Given by the American Pediatric Society, the award recognizes considerable contributions to pediatric science. Katzenellenbogen’s research focuses on HPV and associated cancers. 

Michael Koch, MD (EDT), is profiled in the IU School of Medicine blog post, “Beyond testis cancer: Koch led IU urology to national prominence with expanded faculty expertise.”
