Dr. Cheng's research interests include:
Advances in molecular and cellular biology of prostate tumors have lead to development of new therapeutic strategies for advanced prostate cancer. Our current research focuses on development of an effective gene therapy for prostate cancer in animal model systems. We are studying the dendritic cell based immunogene therapy in the mouse prostate reconstitution system. Our laboratory is also testing cytokines, biological response modifiers, suicidal genes, and antiangiogenic agents for their potential antitumor effect in our animal models. Short-term projects focusing on molecular genetics and biological predictors of genitourinary cancers are available.
