Dr. Han's research interests include:

I am interested in understanding the influence of genetic and environmental factors on the etiology and prevention of cancers. My genetic epidemiological research started with the etiology of skin cancers and expanded to other skin lesions such as psoriasis, moles, and acne. Besides genetic susceptibility, I have also conducted epidemiological research to identify lifestyle and environmental risk factors and comorbidities for cancers. Currently I am leading post-GWAS collaborative projects examining the biological function of genetic variants using bioinformatics and molecular biology tools. I have also worked on breast, endometrial, lung, and head and neck cancers. In addition to my research, I serve as a key investigator on multiple NIH-funded projects, providing critical expertise in genetic and molecular epidemiology to other faculty members and researchers. I plan to conduct molecular and genetic epidemiology of some cancer sites at the IUSCC, including breast, colon, pancreatic and skin cancers.
