Dr. Hamdouchi's research interests include:
1) Interested in leveraging 25+ years of international experience in the pharmaceutical industry (23 years at Eli Lilly & Company) to help establish robust drug discovery & development capabilities/pipeline at IU SIMON COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTER, encompassing the target identification through clinical proof of concept continuum. 2) Highly motivated to work at the interface of academic-industrial partnerships, building relationships, consulting, strategizing, negotiating, mentoring and creating an effective collaborative research environment that stimulates the design and execution of target selection, lead generation, lead optimization, candidate selection, and phases I and II clinical development. 3) Currently involved in the development of novel technologies for targeted protein degradation and their application to the discovery of small-molecule degraders of oncoproteins such as SUMO1, KRAS G12D/G12V mutants and the immunotherapy check-point PD-L1 protein. The ultimate goal is to identify and advance to clinical development potent, selective and orally bioavailable degraders whose preclinical efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetic profiles predict they will enable full exploration of efficacy and safety in cancer patients.
