Physical Therapy's Impact on Quality of Life for Cancer Survivors
Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery may have immediate or late effects that impact a patient’s safety, functional mobility and overall quality of life. Physical therapists and other rehabilitation clinicians are trained to assess, monitor and treat these impairments throughout the care of patients to ensure that each person moves and functions at the highest possible level.
In this Simon Says session, physical therapists and PORI-Certified Oncology Rehabilitation Therapists Bryce Showers, DPT, and Jennie Brouillette, DPT, discuss how evaluation and treatment of these effects can improve the quality of life of cancer survivors. Archana Kanetkar, PT, MHS, moderates.
