Breast Cancer Care: The Evolution of Radiation Therapy

Physician scientists at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center and IU’s Vera Bradley Foundation Center for Breast Cancer Research are working to improve outcomes for breast cancer patients through radiation therapy research.

In this Simon Says session, Namita Agrawal, M.D., and Ryan Rhome, M.D., Ph.D.—both assistant professors of radiation oncology at IU School of Medicine—discuss breast cancer and their research that includes everything from mitigating radiation toxicity, improving patient experiences, and improving breast cancer outcomes. You will learn about early and locally advanced breast cancer, the roles of radiation in treatments, and advancements that are being made to improve care for patients.

Richard Zellars, M.D., chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology and associate director of clinical affairs at IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, moderates.
