1. I currently have a K99/R00 to study the cancer stem cells in the head and neck cancer formation, metastasis, and relapse. I use the lineage tracing method combined with the mouse oral cancer models to identify cancer stem cells and investigate the malignancy transformation mechanism.
2. I plan to collaborate with clinicians to analyze human SCC samples. Single-cell RNA sequencing plus CODEX multiplexed imaging will be used to identify cancer stem cells in humans and the results will be compared with those generated from mouse models.
3. I am also interested in HPV-caused oral cancers. I will establish an HPV-induced oral cancer mouse model and study the HPV and cancer stem cell interaction.
