I am a clinician first with a focus on treating pediatric and AYA patients with leukemia and lymphoma. Academically, I am interested in DEIJ/health disparities, communication, and medical education. I am currently working on several projects at IUSM/Riley, including a retrospective chart review of Hispanic pediatric patients with B-ALL treated at Riley, the development and implementation of an anti-racism curriculum for pediatrics trainees, and creating and evaluating a new longitudinal curriculum for pediatric patients on their inpatient pediatric hematology-oncology rotation. I am also involved nationally in projects evaluating the demographic makeup of members of the Children's Oncology Group, assessing and implementing practices to increase clinical trial enrollment for patients with caregivers who use languages other than English, and evaluating the use of artificial intelligence to answer questions from parents of children with cancer.
