Currently, I work with a research program focused on understanding the microenvironment and molecular mechanism that drive liver cancer development and metastasis in response to non-alcoholic fatty steatohepatitis (NASH). During the postdoctoral training, I investigated and identified critical genes such as Sestrin 3 (Sesn3), Sirtuin 6 (Sirt6), and Patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing protein 3 (PNPLA3) in the pathogenesis of the human liver disease including NASH and liver cancer and tried to understand the molecular mechanisms behind these regulators. The associate membership of IUSCC will help me continue my studies in fundamental and applied research to advance the field of hepatology.
