I am a Thoracic Oncologist and a Clinical Investigator at the Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. I completed my Internal Medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic and my Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the Moffitt Cancer Center. Throughout these years, I have developed a particular interest exploring ways to enhance response to immunotherapy in patients with thoracic malignancies. I have done some research in novel immunotherapy molecules as well as potential immunotherapy biomarkers that may help predict response to treatment. I have evaluated the prevalence and risk factors to develop unusual responses to immunotherapy such as pseudo-progression. My research has also explored responses to immunotherapy in individuals with rare lung cancer mutations such as BRAF, and I have collaborate closely other thoracic oncology colleagues to explore the role of immunotherapy in other subtypes of lung cancers according to different genomic profiles and histologies. I am fully committed to advance my research and implement these findings developing clinical trials at our institution.
