Currently I am investigating effect of Replication Protein A inhibitors (RPAis)on DNA damage response (DDR) induced therapy resistance. Recently, I was involved in development of immune system activating peptides for treatment of cancer. These agents are based on the sequence of endogenous anti-angiogenic Pigment epithelium factor(PEDF) and could be used in combination therapy to alleviate therapy resistance. One of my research interests is to develop of these peptides in combination with conventional therapies such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy and targeted therapy. In past, I have studied role of nitric oxide (NO) in tumor development and therapy resistance (Please see publication. My another field of research is to study effect of therapy induced hypoxia on NO mediated therapy resistance and study role NO in cellular differentiation. I am also interested in studying cell signaling events associated with NO induced therapy resistance and investigate use of nitric oxide synthase inhibitor to overcome therapy resistance.
