Education is key to the IU Simon Cancer Center mission. Our graduate and postgraduate educational programs, including the Cancer Biology Training Program and various IU School of Medicine fellowship programs, ensure that innovation and high-quality care transpire in the health professionals and scientists of tomorrow. Our Summer Research Program and Future Scientist Program provide first-hand research experiences to high school and undergraduate students from underserved populations interested in biomedical and behavioral health sciences. The CUPID (Cancer in the Under-Privileged Indigent or Disadvantaged) program addresses the impending shortage of practicing oncologists within the United States and cultivates an interest in cancer treatment and research among medical students who have not yet fully defined their career plans.
