The focus of my research is to develop new strategies for cervical cancer prevention among underserved women living in Indiana or sub-Saharan Africa. I have had 15 years of research experience in the fields of HPV epidemiology, cervical cancer, and HIV. My experiences include study design, preparation of grant proposals, data management, statistical analyses, and publication of research results. I collaborate with researchers at Indiana University and other national and international sites through the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) for various grants and projects. The focus of my future research will be to address health inequities with the goal of cervical cancer eradication among underprivileged women. This goal will be achieved by developing educational programs for cancer prevention and implementing novel approaches that overcome existing barriers for cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccination.
