My research interests lie at the intersection of computational biology, cancer genomics, and precision medicine, with a particular focus on understanding the complex tumor microenvironment in gastrointestinal cancers. My current work employs cutting-edge single-cell and spatial transcriptomics approaches to decipher the intricate cellular heterogeneity and molecular mechanisms driving cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.
In colorectal cancer (CRC), my research has revealed novel insights into cancer-associated fibroblast populations and their role in predicting patient outcomes. I am currently investigating the therapeutic targeting of these fibroblasts, with the goal of translating these findings into clinical applications. Additionally, my work in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has uncovered critical spatial organization patterns in the tumor microenvironment, identifying distinct cellular ecotypes and their interactions that influence disease progression and treatment response.
Looking forward, I aim to expand this research in several directions:
Developing integrated computational frameworks that combine single-cell transcriptomics, spatial analysis, and artificial intelligence to better understand tumor-stromal interactions
Investigating the impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on the tumor microenvironment and identifying novel therapeutic strategies to overcome treatment resistance
Exploring the application of machine learning approaches to predict patient outcomes and optimize treatment selection in gastrointestinal cancers
Advancing our understanding of tumor heterogeneity through multi-omics integration and spatial mapping of the tumor ecosystem
Through these research endeavors, I seek to contribute to the development of more effective, personalized treatment strategies for cancer patients.
