Member Biography

My research focuses on the mechanisms of fibrogenesis in the liver, which is a major contributor to both development of liver cancers and of liver metastases. My lab studies the regulation of procollagen I trafficking and secretion, as well as how the Unfolded Protein Response regulates the fibrogenic capacity of hepatic stellate cells, the major fibrogenic cell in the liver. We hope to relate this work to models of liver metastasis in the future.
