I joined the faculty in the summer of 2016 and am ramping up my research on applying metabolomics to cancer cachexia and other muscle wasting disorders. I use both NMR and MS based metabolic profiling and integrate this data with other omics technologies. My ultimate goal is to understand the energetic derangements so that pharmaceutical/nutraceutical interventions can be developed to preserve muscle & fat mass, improve response to therapy and prolong survival.
