Dr. Travis's research interests include:
My primary research interests center in the long-term physiologic and psychosocial effects of cancer and its treatment, with a goal of providing a foundation for risk-adapted evidence-based follow-up. Her current work focuses on selected, young adult cancers as a model for the construction of comprehensive survivorship studies (Kerns S et al. JCO 2018.), with the eventual expansion of this approach to other populations. Dr. Travis' research interests also include the development of translational molecular approaches to identify patients at the highest risk of late effects (e.g., cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal) in order to develop preventive and interventional strategies.
