Dr. Delgado's research interests include:
I was co-chair of a haploidentical (half-matched) stem cell transplant protocol for pediatric cancer patients at previous institution. Treatment on this protocol also involves natural killer (NK) cell infusions and selection of donor based on killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) mismatch. There has been discussion about the next phase of this study involving accrual of patients at Riley as an additional site. I have developed a protocol using the addition of bortezomib to a well-established graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis regimen to be used in Riley donor stem cell transplant patients. This study is waiting approval by our institutional IRB.
