Biostatistics & Data Management

The Biostatistics and Data Management Core (BDMC) plays a critical role in the success of cancer research at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center by providing state-of-the-art biostatistical support and data management services.

This includes the design, conduct, analysis and interpretation of clinical trials, basic science studies and population-based research. Composed of faculty biostatisticians, staff biostatisticians and statistical data managers, BDMC collaborates with all center members and participates in cancer research in all research programs of the cancer center.

The specific aims of the core are:

Specific Aim 1: To provide cutting-edge biostatistics support/resources and collaboration to IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center investigators for the planning, design, implementation, monitoring, analysis, interpretation and presentation of results for basic science experiments, clinical trials and population-based studies.

Specific Aim 2: To provide high-quality comprehensive data management services for clinical trials and population-based studies.

Specific Aim 3: To develop high impact novel statistical methods as needed to aid the cancer research of the Center.

Specific Aim 4: To assist with education, training, scientific review, administrative support and strategic planning as needed.
