Research Cures Lung Cancer

Research is how progress happens, and clinical trials are at the heart of that progress.

Lung cancer research saves lives: David’s story

A lung cancer diagnosis now comes with hope, thanks to decades of important research. Learn how participating in a study helped save Dr. David Heilbronner’s life (and at least 100,000 more), and how research, advocacy, and working together are helping us achieve our goal to #EndLungCancerNow.

Coming soon: Quest for the Cure

Quest for the Cure is a virtual board game designed to guide players through the “idea to bench to bedside” process of clinical research.

Players take on rotating roles (patient, physician, caregiver, research coordinator, ethics/safety, and community advocate) to explore how different perspectives shape progress.

A student game design intern from the IU Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering is helping us bring this project to life. We anticipate releasing the virtual game in January 2026.

I’ve cared for a lot of patients in clinical trials, and the people who have been willing to participate have paved the way for these therapies to move into a lot of different settings.
