Yes! We can review and offer suggestions to revise existing tobacco-grounds policies and we are capable of providing a sample tobacco-grounds policy for those agencies without a current policy.  Also, on this page I noticed that after the “When do you offer the TTS Core TrainingYes! We understand that time is very valuable, and your priority is to address the primary concern of the patient. Organizations differ in size, staff members, and resources, therefore each entity may have a different goal when working with us. We typically begin our work with an assessment of the organization and then develop a unique tobacco education plan which can be tailored to meet certain timelines/deadlines.

No, we do not work directly with an organization's patients on their tobacco dependence or addiction but rather, we provide training and education to staff and providers to enhance their skills when working with their own patients to address their tobacco use.

The Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) Core training is an intensive 3-day, in-person or virtual, evidence-based training program. The curriculum has been adopted from the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMass) and is designed to address a set of core competencies defined by the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence. Upon successful completion of the training program, participants may apply for the National Certification in Nicotine and Tobacco Treatment Practice (NCNTT) or the Certified Professional American Heart Association in Tobacco Treatment (CPAHA).

For more details, please visit our TTS Training webpage.

The registration cost for the Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) Core training may vary slightly from training to training. Factors that influence the training costs include fees to the University of Massachusetts, food and beverage, cost of venue, instructor honorariums, continuing education credits, and supplies. We work hard to ensure this valuable training can be offered at a reasonable cost. Rethink Tobacco Indiana does not incur any type of profit from these trainings.

The Tobacco Treatment Specialist Core training will be offered to the public around the state of Indiana twice a year, pending grant funding from the Indiana Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission. Organizations who are interested in having a company-specific closed training may contact Rethink Tobacco Indiana staff for further details.
