Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center researchers are sharing their findings at several international conferences this fall.
The 2025 American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting will take place Dec. 6-9 in Orlando. The world’s largest hematology event, ASH brings together more than 30,000 hematology professionals.
More than 40 abstracts including IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center researchers were selected for the meeting.

Katharine Head, PhD, assistant director of the cancer center’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement, is among authors on poster session abstracts. Cancer center trainees Asif Adil, Malak Khalife, Molly Lumnitzer, Jessica Newton, and Jimin Park are also authors on poster session abstracts.
Cancer center researchers will share their findings and expertise at the 2025 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, the most influential and largest gathering of breast cancer researchers and physicians in the world.
The symposium, taking place Dec. 9-12 in San Antonio, is expecting to bring together more than 10,000 attendees from more than 100 countries.
Research from the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Vera Bradley Foundation Center for Breast Cancer Research at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center is part of one general session and several poster sessions. Cancer center researchers are authors on 15 abstracts selected for this year’s meeting.

Kathryn Nevel, MD, was a featured speaker for a satellite symposia titled “US Real-World FET-PET Glioma Early Access Program Experience” during the Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) 30th Annual Meeting, which was held Nov. 19-23 in Honolulu. The meeting brought together the world’s leading scientists, clinician researchers, trainees and advocates to discuss breakthroughs in basic and clinical research in the neuro-oncology field.
Nevel also was among a panel of experts for SurvivorNet’s “Cancer Dialogues: New Frontiers and Challenges in Glioma Treatment.” In this segment, Nevel discussed a new drug that offers an “exciting” option for patients. In the panel discussion, Nevel and the other experts provided key takeaways from SNO. Watch the panel discussion.
