My program of research has focused on a critical question: How can we leverage health informatics to enhance patient care in meaningful and scalable ways?
My research interests include to use 1) informatics tools to assist nursing practice (e.g., electronic health record data to measure the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes, artificial intelligence tools to support and empower nurses to make informed care decisions, well-designed clinical decision support tools to alert nurses with evidence-based practice and 2) informatics tools to engage patients in care (e.g., mHealth apps to prevent disease/promote health (e.g., cervical cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer) and manage symptom.
