I have a long-standing research interest in liver cancer. More recently, I have developed multiple projects to investigate the mechanisms of alcohol-related liver cancer using animal models and human population data. Currently, I have two NIH grants (R01 and R21) to study the early lesion of liver cancer and to identify novel tumor suppressors in alcohol-associated liver cancer.
At the same time, I have also developed research interest in lung cancer as I have participated the activities of Lung Cancer Working Group at the Tom and Julie Center for Lung Cancer Research in the last couple of years.
I envision that in the next few years my research program will conduct not only mechanistic studies but also translational research on cancer therapeutics and drug resistance.
