I am currently serving as oncology team leader for AMPATH (Academic Model for Providing Access to Healthcare), a longstanding collaboration between IU School of Medicine and Moi University/Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in western Kenya. This partnership is known around the world for being the model for equitable global health partnerships. In this role, I will be conducting breast cancer and implementation science related research as well as other projects within the global oncology space under the direction of Dr. Patrick Loehrer. I have experience conducting implementation science/breast cancer related projects in Malawi and have an ongoing Conquer Cancer Young Investigator Award to conduct a breast cancer screening intervention in Malawi. Over the next two years, I aim to expand breast cancer research in Kenya as well as conduct oncology clinical trials in Kenya and sub-Saharan Africa.
