We are committed to understanding basic aspects of oncogene function, which should lead to novel therapeutic approaches for difficult-to-treat cancers. We study two oncogenic pathways in the pathogenesis of T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. Collectively, the T-cell neoplasms are very resistant to current chemotherapy regimens; thus, we see an opportunity in establishing IU as a major referral center. We will bank tumor samples and apply genomic technologies, to help guide our therapeutic approaches (precision medicine). Our patients will lead us to think harder about these diseases and to generate new ideas.
