My long term research career goals are to understand the mechanisms by which pro-oxidative stressors generated platelet-activating factor (PAF) agonists mediate systemic immunosuppressive effects and modulate melanoma tumor growth. I am also interested in (1) determining the role and effects of the immunomodulatory events triggered by PAF-agonists in the therapeutic interventions of melanoma and (2) to investigate potentially successful approach that could enhance the efficacy of melanoma therapies via augmenting host anti-tumor immune responses.
