I am now focusing on the identification of the origin of B-1 cells (important innate immune cells) in the mouse embryo and elucidation of the role of Bmi1 in B-1 cell self-renal ability using various transgenic and knockout animals. Previous publications imply that B-1 progenitor cells in the mouse embryo could be a candidate for the leukemia initiating cells to develop CLL or congenital/infant ALL. Also My preliminary data also showed that hematopoietic progenitor cells at pre-HSC stage of mouse embryo can develop T-ALL once Notch-ICN was introduced. Therefore, in future study, I want to examine the leukemic potential of hematopoietic progenitor cells in the mouse embryo.
