Project prioritization

Extramurally funded studies involving clinical trials will receive top priority. Unfunded projects will be undertaken only upon recommendation by the advisory committee and approval by the IUSCC executive committee.

Policy on Confidentiality

TVC will maintain confidentiality of patient information as required per HIPAA regulations. PI will have ultimate control over any public disclosure of the scientific results generated in the core. Protocols and assays developed as part of a study will be the property of TVC and will not be considered "confidential."

Publication/Grant Success Feedback

Please inform the core (nkprasad@iupui.edu, 317-278-6608) when data generated using our service results in a publication or a grant award so that we can use it to justify the continued funding for this facility.

Sample Collection and Pick-up

TVC, at this time, is not providing sample collection or pick-up service. Please contact Tissue Procurement and Distribution Core facility or Clinical Research Office for routine sample processing and/or banking.

Sample Processing Hours

The TVC processes samples during normal work hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon-Fri). In some instances, where the assay protocol requires extensive sample preparation/processing, we will request that samples to be delivered before a specified time of the day. The TVC will need sufficient advance notice (a few days to a week) to accommodate any deviation in collection protocol. After-hours and weekend work will incur additional charges: 1.5 times the normal rate for after-hour work on weekdays and 2 times the normal rate for weekend work.

Policy on Acknowledgment/Authorship/Collaboration

All research work performed by the TVC must be acknowledged in all ensuing publications and grant applications. Nature of acknowledgement varies depending on the type of the service and may range from a mention in the acknowledgment section to listing as co-author(s) in publications, or as co-investigators or collaborator in the grant applications. See detailed description of this policy.
