Rhabdoid Tumor Treatment Timeline

Regimen UH-1

Rhabdoid tumor (stages I-IV) is primarily treated with Regimen UH1.

See the general overview of an average patient's treatment. Each patient's treatment will vary, but this will give you an idea of the standard length of chemotherapy, number of inpatient stays, and the amount of outpatient lab visits.

Irinotecan/Vincristine Window Therapy

If your child has a Stage III-IV Rhabdoid tumor, they can participate in the clinical trial, Irinotecan/Vincristine Window Therapy, which may significantly improve his or her treatment. This treatment may not work for every patient, and in that case patients would be put on Regimen UH1. After completion of the window therapy treatment, patients continue on with either Regimen UH1 or Regimen UH2 chemotherapy, depending on the tumor's response to the window therapy.

Regimen UH-2

If your child has stage II-IV Rhabdoid tumor and has participated in the Irinotecan/Vincristine Window Therapy, and the tumor responded well (reduced in size), he/she will continue on with Regimen UH2 chemotherapy.
