Get Involved with Miles for Myeloma

Save the date!

Miles for Myeloma logoIt’s time to mark your calendars for the 19th annual Miles for Myeloma!

All myeloma patients and their families are invited to attend the annual Miles for Myeloma Patient Education Symposium and Brunch in Indianapolis on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023.

(Note: Decisions about our 2023 events may evolve. The health and safety of our patients and their families are our top priority. As we continue to navigate the pandemic, we will regularly evaluate evolving COVID-10 and public health guidelines.)

Most gifts we receive are less than $50. There are nearly 1,000 myeloma patients at IU. If each patient asked 10 friends to make a gift of just $25, we’d generate $250,000!

Put your words to work

It’s easy to start your volunteer fundraising campaign—we’ll help you write personalized letters, emails, and social media posts.

To get started, we’ll help you craft your special message and guide you through the process step by step. All you need to do is share it with your friends and family via email, Facebook, Twitter, and other channels.

If you prefer to send letters, we’ll send you a kit of personalized letters, envelopes, and gift cards. All you have to do is stuff them, hand them out, or mail them. Alternatively, a group of friends or family might enjoy having a “stuffing party” with you!

Most people will welcome the opportunity to do something meaningful for you and at whatever level they choose. Patients and their families are usually overwhelmed by the response they receive.

Volunteer your time

Miles for Myeloma exists because of the many passionate and dedicated volunteers who make the event possible every year.

All are welcome to join our monthly planning committee meetings; contact Ashleigh Wahl at 317-278-5313 or awahl2@iu.edu for details.

For the latest planning and volunteer activities, check the M4M Events page and follow us on Facebook.

If someone makes a gift in honor of you, we thank them and provide them with a tax receipt, but we will never solicit them for additional gifts.
