Training2004 Summer Research Program Highlights
The 2004 Indiana University Cancer Center Summer Research Program ended their program on August 6th by presenting their research projects at a poster session attended by faculty, students and family.
Fourteen students participated in the program, representing five different Indianapolis high schools and nine different universities around the country, from as nearby as Butler University and as far away as Texas Southern University. Most participating students are pursuing careers in psychology, medicine, pharmacy and nursing and were matched with an appropriate mentor in one of the five IU Cancer Center research programs. Research projects represented a mix of basic, behavioral and clinical topics, ranging from exploring “The Role of Telomerase in Breast Cancer” to comparing “Telehealth vs. Print Interventions for Colorectal Cancer Screening.”
