Cancer Research Day 2006 Highlights
IU Simon Cancer Center’s Annual Cancer Research Day includes a scientific poster session and keynote address. The event aims to increase understanding and awareness of IU Simon Cancer Center research endeavors and encourage collaboration among students, fellows and faculty conducting cancer research.
The Third Annual Cancer Research Day was held on May 10, 2006, from 10-5pm. Over 80 posters were presented and represented the current cancer research efforts at IUPUI, IU-Bloomington, Purdue University and Lilly Research Labs. Cancer Research Day 2006 concluded with a keynote address at the regularly scheduled IU Simon Cancer Center combined seminar in room 101 of the Cancer Research Institute Building from 4-5pm. The address featured Theodore S, Lawrence, Ph.D., M.D.,Professor and Chair of Radiation Oncology at University of Michigan. Dr. Lawrence’s research interests include novel treatments for liver, pancreas cancer, and brain tumors as well as gene therapy.
